Peter is author of "The Cliffs of Hartland Quay". We thank him for permission to use his wonderful aerial photographs taken in 2010. Peter, an Oxford based academic, writes Thematic Trails which provide a beautifully illustrated guide to various areas combined with information on local geology.

Our favourite is, of course, his Hartland Quay title…………see if you can guess where these photos are. Copyright remains with Peter Keene who has kindly agreed to the HPA using them to promote the area……..thanks, Peter!

However, 17th October is publication day for a 128 page A4 book on the subject, called The North-West Devon Coast: a Celebration of the Cliffs and Seashore from the Hartland Peninsula to the Taw-Torridge Estuary. It costs £15 which is pretty good given it has 215 illustrations (colour print does not come cheap).
The core of the book is 55 magnificent photos taken on a flight along the coast, combined with a personal commentary, including quotes from authors and artists who have loved the area. Peter Keene is an experienced sea kayaker who has explored the coast in detail from the sea, too. Originally from Westward Ho! Peter Keene now lives and works in Oxfordshire.
