Visit the potteries and artisans - and have a go!
The beautiful scenery, glorious light and uncluttered way of life has attracted and inspired artists and craftspeople for hundreds of years.
Hartland is famous for its pottery but there are also artists and craftspeople of every kind living and working here. Many have galleries and studios and some offer taster sessions, workshops and longer courses. Don't miss: The No.39 Pottery for fantastic domestic pottery and hands on sessions, Welcombe Pottery for classes, stoneware and glass, the lively White Hare Studio and Gallery for one-off paintings, jewellery and gifts handmade on the premises, Two Harton Manor for Merlyn Chesterman's paintings and woodblock prints and lessons and Rob Seymour's Shoreline Photography to browse and buy original photographic work that is the very essence of sea, shore and sky.
Plus there are regular arts and crafts festivals on and near the Peninsula all year round, see our arts and crafts article on our blog magazine.
