Docton Mill Gardens & Tearoom are open for 2017!!

Lana Borrett from Docton Mill Gardens and Tearoom has given us her first blog of the year.

"Spring is in the air and our gardens & tearooms are open for the start of another fantastic growing and cream-tea enjoying year!

The gardens have come alive with thousands of daffodils of many varieties, as I write this the Red Devons along the drive are magnificent. Magnolias are blooming, the stellatas are a picture and carpets of hellebores and leucojums (giant snowflakes) can be seen in the woodland garden.

Have you seen our delightful article in the RHS Garden magazine? There are beautiful pictures of the stream garden in May and June with much of the history regarding the development of our garden since the 1930s.  It is a brilliant article capturing the atmosphere here, especially in Andrew Lawson’s photography.

We are looking forward to this coming weekend. Sunshine is promised, and of course it’s Mothering Sunday. We have our menu of light lunches, homemade cakes and cream teas available, and the woodburner is glowing in the tearoom, so do come along with your Mum.

We look forward to seeing you!"
