White Hare Studio~Gallery
| Clive Brocklehurst is an artist painting exclusively in watercolour. Fascinated by the many legends that surround hares he created White Hare Gifts after painting a white hare in the moonlight which has become one of his most enduringly popular images. He is inspired by British folklore, the landscape and romance. He has a prolific output painting, writing, illustrating and working to commission. Designed as a truly local West Country venture, everything stocked at White Hare Gifts is created on the premises, with frames made just over the border in Cornwall and Clive painting on watercolour paper made at St Cuthbert’s Mill in Somerset. Gift sets of cards and small prints start at prices to fit all pockets with a huge variety of framed prints, originals and special one-off studio pieces always being produced as Clive responds to the inspiration of life on the North Coast. 67 The Square dates from the 1750’s and has had a shop on the ground floor for centuries. The studio~gallery is entered through the lofty hallway and into the original shop with its high ceiling, fireplace, original arched bookshelves and lovely bow window. “Life is magical, I feel this every day, but when I walk the South West Coastal Footpath around the Hartland Peninsula I know this to be true”Spring/Summer 2012 Opening Times Directions
