Clovelly Fudge for the 
Funtastic Fudge Hunt 2015

Clovelly have their Funtastic Fudge Hunt from now until April 6th: visit this beautiful, historic village, with its steep cobbled streets tumbling down to the ancient quay, and hunt for one of the twenty fudge stones hidden around the village. Find one and you win a whole kilogram of Clovelly fudge made up of eight different flavours! Admission charges.



Hartland Abbey, on the 5th & 6th April, have a weekend of Easter activities. Join in the fun in the beautiful grounds and gardens.  Children can search all the woodland paths and walks for clues that will lead them to a hidden treasure trove of Easter Eggs, and there will be traditional games like Pin the Tail on the Bunny.  The daffodils and spring flowers should be looking wonderful, making this a special day out for adults and children alike. Dogs are very welcome provided they don’t eat the Easter eggs first! Admission charges.

The Point at Hartland Point – Easter Egg Hunt & Family Quiz

The Point @ Hartland Point, open daily from 10am-5pm, has an Easter egg hunt on Easter Sunday, and all children will receive an egg. Adults aren’t left out – there’s a free Easter biscuit with every hot drink purchased. There’s also a family quiz all year round.  Spectacularly beautiful, it’s the perfect place for an Easter walk and for morning coffee, light lunches, smoothies, soups, cakes, cream teas and much more. Come and explore this most dramatic part of the South West Coast Path.



Docton Mill Gardens & Tea Room (admission to the gardens) and Cheristow Lavender (free) are both open for beautiful gardens and delicious food and drink, plus theOld Bakery Coffee Shop, newly opened for 2015, is another perfect spot to enjoy morning coffee, lunch or afternoon tea and a stroll around Hartland Village.

If your idea of the perfect Easter is a pint of the finest local ale or cider and a delicious Sunday lunch then look no further than Hartland Quay Hotel and Wreckers Bar with its astonishing setting and views right on the coast. Walk via the coast path or quiet country lanes, or cycle or drive down. Burn off some Easter energy at Hartland Quay beach and the surrounding coast path walks then retire to the pub for home cooked food and great local drinks.  Similarly, the Old Smithy Inn, with its excellent food, atmosphere and reviews, does fabulous Sunday roasts in this gorgeous rural and coastal setting at timelessly beautiful Welcombe. Beautiful walks at and from the coast path or drive, walk or cycle in the sheltered, wooded lanes.  Lovely, sandy Welcombe beach is a great place for a pre- or post-lunch walk or some Easter beach combing.
