There has been an hotel at Hartland Quay since 1886 and it is owned by the Stucleys whose family seat is nearby Hartland Abbey. However, the hotel has been managed by three generations of the Johns family over four decades with Chris and Jill Johns being the present hosts.

The Hotel has a resident’s lounge, large dining room and a public bar called the Wrecker’s Retreat. There are 17 bedrooms, 15 of them en-suite with the majority having spectacular views out across the Atlantic. All the bedrooms have TV, tea and coffee making facilities and heating.

Fosfelle Country House Hotel

Fosfelle is a delightful 17th century Manor house set in peaceful surroundings close to Hartland run by resident owners Denny and Rita who ensure a warm welcome to their guests.

All of the bedrooms are individually furnished with most having the advantage of en-suite facilities. They all have complimentary tea making facilities.

A full English breakfast will await in the spacious attractive dining room and the restaurant offers a varied and interesting choice of dishes from both the Table d’Hote and A la Carte menu sourced locally. Special diets can be catered for and there is a carefully chosen wine list to compliment meals.
