The Old Smithy Backpackers Lodge
One of the oldest buildings on the site of this great character pub, the lodge offers a room with two bunks (so four beds), secure lockers, power point, three lights and a lovely washroom with hot shower, toilet, sink and shaver point.
Perfect for walkers, surfers, cyclists, those looking for inexpensive accommodation in glorious countryside or just those wanting a place to stay so everyone can enjoy a great night at this popular and vibrant pub with its excellent food and drink.
The pub itself is a beautiful thatched building with wonderful views across the open countryside to the sea, real fires, great food, local ales, good wines, wifi and a very warm welcome to all. There are regular events: folk nights, jam nights (all welcome with instruments, voice, poetry or skits), quiz nights, pizza nights, main meals for £7, Sunday lunches and the not-to-be-missed 'Grab your Grapes' Wednesdays when all bottles of wine are £9.95 or £11.95.
Just £10 per person, per night, booking is not essential but desirable to avoid disappointment. Bedding is also available at extra cost. Open all year.
